Web Client - Purchase Requisition - Not Privilaged

Posted on by 22,647

Ok, so we have a web client - web only access - can log on - can create Purchase Requisitions - can recall via workflow and can print the Requistion.

However, when we complete the Approval of the Requisition and client clicks the PURCHASE button on the Action Button the screen pops to the correct / expected window / however nothing happens.  As a test I left it there for 2 hours - and no change.

When another user with Full User  client access uses the same Requisition, and clicks the same button there are no issues - the same Requisition ID opens in the window and we could complete the creation of the PO.

So, when we go back to the Web Client user, we then try to follow the Workflow process window and learn that there is some degree of secuirty missing.  When we click on the Workflow History option, we are told we do not have security for that window.

What are we missing.

QUESTION

Has anyone got a good security tree figured out for Web only client, that has to create Requistions and prepare and deal with the Purchase Order once they Requisition has been approved.

  • RE: Web Client - Purchase Requisition - Not Privilaged

    Hello Bill,

What version/build of Dynamics GP are you currently running? Also, this Web Client Only user account, are they a Limited or Full user, as setup in the User Setup window?

The other question would be if you have verified with a regular user account, not setup for Web Client Only, but with the exact same setup and security roles and tasks assigned, that the user can click on Purchase and have the PO converted as expected?

The reason I ask is, I tested on a Dynamics GP 2013 R2 environment with a limited user. After submitting and approving/completing a purchase requisition through Workflow 2.0, and allowing this user to view all requisitions, the user can pull up the completed requisition, click on the Actions menu, but doesn't see a 'Purchase' option at all.

If I change the user to be a 'Full' user, without changing anything else, then the user now sees a 'purchase' action option.

Let me know the specifics and I can test this as well.

    Thank you,
