Rendering charts in card page or list page

I have a page in Business Central that displays all the food records I’ve submitted for our company. For testing purposes, I created five food types — BURGER, NOODLES, STEAK, PASTA, and FRIED CHICKEN — and entered records spanning a full year. Additionally, I added three extra months of entries for two of the food types (BURGER and NOODLES), resulting in approximately 66 records in total (12 per food type, plus 6 extra).

Now, I’d like to visualize this data using built-in tools or controls available within Business Central. Right now, the list of food entries is too long and difficult to interpret at a glance, particularly for company executives. A visual representation would make the data much easier to understand and present.

All the data is stored in a table, which includes a field called Food Name, containing values such as BURGER, NOODLES, STEAK, PASTA, and FRIED CHICKEN. I want to visualize the contents of this table on a Card or List page, ideally in the form of charts or graphs.

    Hi there,

Visualizing data directly within Card or List pages in Business Central is a great way to enhance usability, especially for executive-level insights. While Business Central doesn’t natively support embedded charts in standard pages, here are a few approaches you can consider:

    1. Use a FactBox with Power BI Integration

    • Add a Power BI FactBox to your Card or List page.
    • Create a Power BI report that visualizes your food data (e.g., bar chart showing monthly counts per food type).
    • Publish the report and embed it using the Power BI Report FactBox.

    2. Use a Cue or KPI Tile

    • If you're looking for summary visuals, you can use Cues on a Role Center page to show counts or trends.
    • These are not full charts but can be styled to show key metrics.

    3. Custom Control Add-In

    • For more advanced visuals, you can develop a JavaScript-based Control Add-In that renders charts (e.g., using Chart.js or D3.js).
    • This can be embedded in a Card or List page and linked to your food data.

    4. Use Power Apps or Power Pages

    • If embedding directly in BC is too limiting, consider creating a Power App dashboard that connects to your BC data via APIs or Dataverse.
    • You can link to this dashboard from BC or embed it in a web client.

Let me know if you'd like help building a Power BI report or designing a Control Add-In!

Please verify if this response was helpful.

    Best regards!

In Dynamics 365, rendering charts on card or list pages can be achieved by embedding Power BI visuals or using built-in chart controls. Ensure that data sources are properly configured and permissions set. Custom menu can also be developed using JavaScript or extensions for better visualization and performance.
