Hi,
Using CRM2013, is it possible to put the service calendar on a dashboard?

You can create a web resource, then have a dashboard that load the URL.
The url for service calendar is :
/sm/home_apptbook.aspx
for example: crm.servername/.../home_apptbook.aspx
This is a the link for example:
community.dynamics.com/.../111739.aspx
It will help you to use web resource in Dashboard, just replace the URL to your service calendar URL.
I found another way to put Service Calendar on a Dashboard.
It is using IFrame.
It is easier and fast but just need to include the URL only.
Steps:
1. First you go to Dashboard Setting for customization
2. Then insert the IFrame
3. Set the IFrame URL to the Service Calendar URL
For example:
https://crm.servername:5555/myorg/sm/home_apptbook.aspx
Uncheck the Restrict cross-frame ... check box
4. Just adjust the Height and Weight of your component:
5. Name it, Save it, and Publish All Customization
6. Test the result
7. Refresh the browser, and go to Dashboard anchor.
8. Here is the result:
Hope it helps!
Thanks.
Thanks!
Works perfectly!
Hello,
I would be very grateful for your help, if anyone has any idea why this will not work? I have looked everywhere within the CRM and cannot find why it will not display. Previously I got it to display however the buttons had no borders, and would not hyperlink to the days, or individuals names.
I have completed the steps above, however there are two variants that I get from these directions
First I would like to say that I am trying to add the Calendar to the dashboard (Custom Dashboard) and i want it to be viewable with other elements such as "All Tasks" All Appointments: Etc.. I have 3 at the top (Smaller Windows) and then one big one at the bottom of the page using the I-frame.
1.) I cannot remove the check from the "Select whether to restrict cross-frame scripting" It is Greyed out and will not allow to remove the check.
2.) I have no Port Number from the server (i.e. Our Server address is not set with HTTPS so I believe it is using just the default 8080 port.
When I add the directory stated into the I-frame, i save it and then I check the dashboard and see "Error" and error has occurred! as I have shown below - I did add the link to trusted sites, and other area's within Security tab on IE.
Any help would be appreciated.
An error has occurred. Try this action again. If the problem continues, check the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Community for solutions or contact your organization's Microsoft Dynamics CRM Administrator. Finally, you can contact Microsoft Support.

Hi Nirpendra,
Go to internet explorer --> Internet Options --> Security Tab -->Custom Level -->Under Miscellaneous -->Enable Access Data sources across domains
I understand why the problem come in my Iframe. Can you define me how we get this:- crm.servername/myorg
Hi together,
I've got a question concering the calendar iframe and the webaddress....
The address worked fine when I tested it.
But to use it correctly, I found out, that disabling "Restrict Cross Frame..." is just possible if it is a System Dashboard.
But when I build a System Dashboard in my Development environment the address will be crmdev.mycompany.com/.../home_apptbook.aspx
In the Production environment it is: crm.mycompany.com/.../home_apptbook.aspx
What do you think would be the best way? To create a System Dashboard directly in the Production Environment? Or create first in Dev as part of a solution, export it, import it and correct the address of the iframe in the Production environment? Or is there another way?
Best regards
Mick
Hi Graham, did you ever find a fix for this?
I have the service calendar in an inframe within a webresource, so that I can update paramters on it with javascript on load (set default views etc.)
When I load the dashboard it is loaded on it works fine, if I refresh the dashboard I get that unhelpful "An error has occurred" message.
I've taken off all my script and the error still occurs, but doesn't happen if I change the page that I'm loading in the iframe - eg. just put my companies website in an iframe works fine.
So it seems to be something specific with trying to load a CRM page within the web resource iframe.
Any thoughts?
