Customer Statement Report (10072) Issue | Standard

ReportReport

Hello Experts,

<Statement>
This was a stupid but a frustrating issue. The report Customer Statement (10072) in almost all the version of NAV ( RTC Version ). When we try to change the dimension of any text field (for example the length of Header(Right TOP) "Report Title"), it generated Error related to a Text Box 36(Footer Text box).

<case 1>
This doesn't makes sense for me. I tried to change the dimension of "Text box 36" just by making it slightly smaller, then it worked and let me save the report.

<case 2>

When i deleted the "Text box 36"(Just Testing to eliminate the error), it generated the error for Another Text box ("Text box 15"in Footer).

<My Solution>
So the Solution i found was change the Dimension of "Text box 36" if you want to change the Header Text boxes.

<Need your view on!>

Can anybody explain what is the reason behind the standard report behaving weird and is this a problem or is it supposed to behave like this.

    Rabindra,

    If  any control Property distance from it is Containing/Parent Object is negative you will get that error. When you change the dimension is it changing those property values to negative ? are these textboxes are in another object ?

    Suresh,

    As i have explained in detail, i just increase the size of the Report Title.

    It shows the same error if i increase or Decrease the size of the Report Title Text box.  This is only thing i do to get stuck with the error.

    In my example i just gave an example: In fact if i just even move the Title to any other place in header, the error is the same.

    seems to be a bug.

    best you update to the newest build (CU).

    if error stays, contact the microsoft support.

    Hi Rabindra,

    This is strange. But when I looked up, I ended up in the position of the textbox.

    I am not sure until I looked at this blogpost: thitos.blogspot.com/.../microsoft-sql-server-reporting-services.html

    But I still puzzled when you delete Textbox36, why would the error end up again in Textbox15. Anyways, check the location of Textbox15 as well.

    Hope that link helps.

    Hello Rabin,

    Actually TextBox36 Top property is -00002in

    see the bellow screenshot

    4540.res.png

    You have to put in Top property 0in  and then save.

    now you won't get any error.

    Hello Binesh,

    you are correct. When we change the Title dimension it changes the Location of Footer Textbox. we can either manually make it 0 or use the mouse to make it smaller. This is what i have mentioned in my question.

    But the question still is what is the reason behind this. I had hard time explaining this effect to my colleagues if you have the reason then please share.

    At the beginning its 0 later it changes to some value.
