Fixed column widths on exported Excel files from the CRM

Since recently we noticed when a user creates a Static Worksheet from user interface on any entity, it has a fixed column width on all columns (e.g 41.29 or 295 pixels). They won't auto adjust based on cell values.

But 'Advanced Find' doesn't have this issue. Excel column width changes based on the cell value.

Anyone knows a fix for this?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Ric,

Maybe you can open one ticket for Microsoft:

I am experiencing the same problem. Have you found a solution?

    No I haven't yet.
For the time being I use Advanced Find and download to excel. That does the trick for me.

Select the Column A and go to “Data” tab and click “Text To Column” option. Select the Fixed Width Format option and click “Next”. Here you would see in grid that data is separated by some columns.

That works, thanks for the suggestion. It still requires extra clicks, however--I either have to export and adjust column width in Excel, or navigate to Advanced Find and export from there. I'm hoping for a solution that will allow me to do it directly from the View, the way it used to work. Strange that it has changed.

I think we may be talking about two different things. The problem I have currently is that the column width in exported excel files defaults to 41.4 pixels. That behavior started recently. If I export the same data from Advanced Find, the column widths are 13.4, the way they used to be. The difference is significant, because 41.4 is too wide for me to see enough data, forcing the extra step of adjusting column widths in Excel.
