Register electronic reconciliation

I'm trying to use the electronic reconciliation.  I already have bank recon, my understanding is that the electronic module is part of that but is not installed automatically.  My MS partner didn't seem to even know that the electronic recon existed.  I had asked about the concept but didn't get an answer, much less that the module already exists and I've already paid for it. I spent a few hours on the customer source site and found out about the module and how it works.  I paid my MS partner to have the module activated.  I can do all of the setup but when I get to the final "download" step it says I'm not registered.  They don't seem to know what to do now and say they have to contact MS and don't know when they will have an answer.

Does anyone know how to "register" this module?  I think I have gone through all the security setup requirements.  I don't know what is stopping me at this point.

    Hi Don,

You may be a 'modular' customer. Many of my customers are and they didn't get the extra modules until they upgraded to GP2013. Boy, you get everything then :).

Like Susan said, this might be a good time for an upgrade. Ask your partner for the list of modules you'll get with 2013. You will be delighted and amazed.

You'll love it - move on up to GP 2013!

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

That's because they changed the licensing again and you will get the advantage in GP2013.  That is why Leslie was saying that she thought it was included even in the base pricing.  Ask you Partner what else you get in GP2013.  It might be worth your doing an upgrade.  If you have a lot of customs you might find that some of those customs you have are now included in the base GP product.  it might be worth having a discussion with your VAR

I'm running GP2010 but I go way back.  Started in 1999 I think with Great Plains Dynamics, before Microsoft bought them.  I have no idea what "license" I operate under.  By Dynamics partner is now telling me that Electronic recon in included in GP2013 but not in GP2010 which still seems odd.

    RE: Register electronic reconciliation

    Hi Don,

I don't sell the software, so I am not the expert on pricing. What version are you running and when did you first license it? Being back from the old days, I have clients that purchased the software when each module was extra. Years later, MSoft came out with 'Business Ready' licensing. If you purchased the software as a 'business ready' license, you got a group of options and didn't have to buy each one individually. I thought the electronic reconcile option was even part of the entry-level package.

Now, they have 'perpetual' licensing. I know with that, you definitely get the electronic reconcile module. So, depending on what your install base is - you may need to upgrade to pick up electronic reconcile.

What version are you running, and when did you first purchase the software?

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

Thanks Leslie.  My dynamics partner is now saying that electronic recon is not part of the bank recon module.  They say it's an additional $1,400.00 to activate it.  That seems inconsistent with what I have seen elsewhere and what you are saying.  Is there some way to confirm this?

    Don,

You can look in your CustomerSource under Voice and see what all you have license to. You can also get your registration keys. There is not a separate registration for the module, it's covered in your overall GP reg keys. You might check the reg keys you have entered in your software against the reg keys in Voice. It's possible that you do not have the most current reg keys typed in. You can get all of this information just by logging in to CustomerSource.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
