I have quick question that is bugging me. Can I (preferably from a sales opportunity) link in such a way that I load up an Outlook template? I would love to be able to send out appointment confirmations from Outlook.

Unfortunately you can’t do this from outlook, instead I recommend to use email from CRM interface & create a rule to mark yourself as bcc so that you can compose email in CRM using the templates feature of CRM against respective entity & also receive the copy of same in your inbox for future reference within outlook

Just to be clear: I would prefer to be able to integrate the Dynamics information into Outlook directly. That way, I would be able to send e-mails on a specific template with the information from Dynamics CRM.

If you are using Office 365 Online or Exchange on Premise which is integrated with Dynamics 365 then you need to enable the server-side sync option for Contacts, Appointments & Tasks.

Note: Make sure the email id you are sending appointment request is part of either account or contact in Microsoft Dynamics CRM and in tracked mode
