Does Dynamics 365 for Marketing "really" support massive email blasts (9 million emails per month to a contact database of 2 million records)?

Hello,

I know that the limit is stablished at 10x the number of contacts, but my question is about the reliability of the service. Can it really manage these numbers? About 100M emails a year to 2M database contacts? It is a SMB, B2C customer.

Really appreciate your answers.

Thanks a lot! Javier.

    Hi Javier,

Can you provide more information at to the scenarios the customer has in terms of email blasts?  e.g. 1x per month they send a blast to 500,000 contacts, they send one blast per day w/10,000 contacts.

    Thanks,

    Megan

    Hi F. Javier Castro Castro,

With Dynamics 365 for Marketing you are entitled to an Email/month ratio of ten times the number of contacts. Customers who purchase the Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement Plan or Dynamics 365 Plan will receive an entitlement of 2000 contacts and one Marketing Application instance included with purchase of 10 seats of the Plan offers. For additional contacts pack for Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement or Dynamics 365 Plan, customers must purchase one-time “Plan Attach” offer that provides 8000 additional contacts. For all additional contacts requirement, customers must purchase the “Additional Contacts” pack in increments of 5000 contacts.

If you already have Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement plan licenses you can attach Dynamics Marketing to your subscription for $750/month, 2000 contacts included. Additional contacts cost $600 for the first 8000, then $250 for each additional 5000. If you already have Dynamics 365 application licenses (like Sales Enterprise vs the full Customer Engagement Plan licensing) you can attach Marketing for $750/month, includes 10,000 contacts and $250/month for each additional 5000 contacts.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Marketing does support massive email blasts, but to meet your requirement you will need to purchase approximately 400 Additional Contact packs. To send 9M emails/month to 2M Contacts will cost around $100000 a month. I recommend reading the Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Marketing section of the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Licensing Guide for more information.

The licensing model has changed now in October, and pricing for customers with a high number of contacts have been reduced drastically.

You pay only for the contacts you actually market to, and not all contacts in CRM as previously. There's also a volume discount to be had. These two changes combined makes for a massive difference in price offered.
