Hi,
We're planning to migrate our Dynamics GP 9 environment from the classic server/client environment to a Terminal Server environment using thin clients. I was wondering if anyone on this forum had any experience making this move and what issues or challenges I should look for when migrating my users and data over. Thanks!

I am about to do my first GP Client install on a Terminal Server and was wondering if I could ask a couple of questions.......
1. My Client setup 2 Terminal Servers in a Farm for balancing load - will GP work in this environment?
2. GP states that in Terminal Server environment best practice is to store shared resources on the Terminal Server - if there is 2 servers - what do you recommend?
3. Terminal Server - when I log in - I'll be in 'Application Mode' - do I need to do something to switch it?
4. Any issues you see with printing, profiles, etc??
Thanks - you are always very helpful.......
Hi. Lots of experience working in terminal server env. No issues to speak of really. Certainly nothing that should steer you away from TS. It makes administration of GP much easier. Only issue is if the TS goes down, no one can log in. Always good to maintain maybe one traditional workstation just in case. Did have one issue where TS was writing to the dex.ini file and the net result was poor performance in GP, but it is easily sorted.
What data are you migrating? - will the SQL Databases not exist on the existing server with just TS clients logging in?
How many users will access through TS? Will you have more than one TS?
I have a customer accessing GP over TS from China, US, India and Europe - 25 users plus, with no issues.
