Parent Business Unit cannot view child business unit record

Hi All,

I need an assisted about issue missing connection

So, I have business unit A (parent) and business unit B (child).

Some record related to business unit B

When I set the record view use user assigned to business unit B, it's working right

But when I set the record view for user with business unit A, it cannot see anything

(Should be see the same view as user assigned to business unit B because B is a child from A business unit)

Any missing for this issue?

Hi,

It depends on the security role configuration. Does that user in business unit A have a role that gives them permission to see records in the child business units? Can you post a screenshot of that role?

Your security role will need to be set correctly. Does the user in business unit A have a "green" icon for read access on the record? (Green meaning that can see child business units or entire organisation.)

There is screenshot about security role

for read access, user A and B is the same role (organization)

What should I do?

Hi David,

everything looks good with the role (actually, looks like both users should be able to see everything).

Can you ask the user who can't see that record to open advanced find, select "Exmaple A" entity, remove all filters, and see if the record shows up in the results?

If it does, then the problem is not with the roles, but, rather, with the view you are using there (some filtering conditions are preventing users from seeing the records)

Also, I'm not sure it would be related considering how the roles are set, but just in case.. When you wrote "Some record related to business unit B", did you mean that it is assigned to a user in that business unit?

Hi Alex,

So I wrote "Some record related to business unit B" is something like this

I have an "Example A" entity

In there, I have record field which is lookup to business unit entity as a "business unit B"

Business unit GP belong to user B

For "Example A view" I use filter equal current business unit

When user B see the Example A record, it work fine as a plan

Other way I have business unit A belong to user A

When user A see the "Example A" record, no record available to show

I want this user can see as an user B see, because business unit A is the parent of business unit GP

How to do?
