Error When Using Email Tokens for Customer Invoices, if Certain Customers Don't Have an Email Address

We have set up a purpose of "SO Invoice Email" to automatically send customer's their invoices.  However, there are some customers who get paper invoices and don't have an email address on file.  So, when we process them, an error occurs "Customer address with purpose SO Invoice Email was not found.  Is there a way to select whether a customer should get the email or not at the customer setup or configure Print Management to only use email if they have an email address there?  It seems everything we're seeing is all or nothing, so the workaround would be to set up a "dummy" email address for those customers who don't have email.

    Hi EdVW,

To my knowledge a system adjustment is necessary if you want to have AX automatically create printed invoices if an email address is missing.

The dummy email is a workaround that you can use.

Have you tried approaching those customers who have not provided an email in order to get them away from the paper invoice document?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

I appreciate your response on this.  Yes, we are actively working with customers to get email addresses but there are some who are stubborn and just want paper.  And since we want a standardized method for issuing an invoice, I suppose for now the dummy email address might be our fix.

Long-term, I may want to look into suppressing this error with code.  If there are any developers who see this and have done this, let me know what you did.

    Thanks!

    Ed

    Hi EdVW,

You can try to setup 2 print destinations one for email another for printing. Then you can use query on print destinations with exist join to select orders with emails for email print destination and not exists join for printer.  I think we successfully did this for one of our customers, however, you may need a help of a developer to tell you table\view names that you need to use in the query.
