Can't print X or Z Reports on Receipt Printer Windows 8

Running RMS on a Windows 8 Pro and all the receipts print correctly except the X and Z receipts.  We get a Runtime Error 11 Division by Zero and the program shuts down.

    After working on this all day - I decided to take the File Logo off of the X Report and saved it and re-select it in the Receipt Formats area of our customers receipt.  They when I went back into the POS and ran an X Report and what do you know it now works.

    Thanks for coming back and updating this just had the same issue. I was using and Epson TM-T88V with a  network Card from a wireless device. Removing the logo fixed it.

    Shawn,

    When you say you "take the File Logo off of the X Report ", did you actually edit the XReport.XML file directly and remove it there, or did you change something on the Receipt Properties through Store Operations Manager?

    I have a client running RMS Feature Pack 2 on a brand new Windows 7 64-bit system, using an Epson TM-T88V printer. I am getting the same problem (sales receipts print, the X/Z report errors out with a Division by Zero error). If I know just what you did, I can try it on their register.

    Thanks,

    Hi Bill,

    You will have to navigate to the Receipt Template in Microsoft RMS folder and when you see the XReport right click and click on edit.  This will allow you to choose what program you want to edit with - I use notepad.  When the XReport opens go to the edit menu that is located on the menu bar next to file and click on find and type in Logo and execute the find.  It will find the area in the XML that has the word Logo and you will need to delete it and then run find again to locate any other listing of Logo.  Make sure when you save this XML you are replacing the original.

    Good luck.

    Thanks, Shawn. I commented out the folliwing lines in my XReport.xml template file:

    <!-- Removed the logo form the X/Z report -->

    <!-- Original Code -->

    <!-- <SET name = "LogoFilename" custom = "true" description = "Logo Filename" type = "vbString">

    </SET>

    -->

    Also commented out these lines

    <!-- Removed the logo form the X/Z report -->

    <!-- Original Code -->

    <!--

    <PICTURE>

    <FILENAME>  LogoFilename         </FILENAME>

    <WIDTH>     PageWidth            </WIDTH>

    <LEFT>      MarginLeft           </LEFT>

    <HEIGHT>    0                    </HEIGHT>

    </PICTURE>

    -->

    The X and Z reports are now printing just fine.

    Thanks again for this useful tip!

    Thanks for the tip about the LOGO, i had the same issue with the same printer, but my issue was on windows Xp and windows 7.

    After seeing your tip about the Logo, i went into Administrator and went to File > Configuration and selected the register tab and simply removed the path for  Store Logo and bingo this worked.

    Not sure if this is a Logo issue or path issue.

    Good Luck

    I tried editing XReprt.xml but did not work for me. Going into Administrator and removing the path to the Store Logo was successful for me. I am using a new installed system of Windows 7 pro and RMS 2.0.

    My God, I just spent 3 hours on this problem before I found this post.  That was after spending 2 hours trying to figure out why RMS crashed after I installed the OPOS driver for my Epson TM-88V printer.  This is a brandy-new install with a clean Win 7 machine.  We've used RMS 1.2 for 10+ years and decided it was time to upgrade.  What a mistake. This software and Microsoft is total shit.

    Not sure why you are blaming MS for an Epson OPOS install issue.  Most Partner's know to install Epson OPOS drivers before the RMS install as they erase/change the RMS ones.  Star's OPOS driver install work properly before/after an RMS install.

    A good, experienced Partner would have solved your issue in less than 20 minutes
