    Hi

We had a field in item card that was had the same function. It was going as "on hand" minus "demand" (by demand we mean SO, Production order, etc) and then determined when number goes to zero then grabbed the date of demand that cause that (like SO due date or production order) and showed. I do not know how coding was done. But we realized since this is calculated field it slow down opening item card.

We removed the code and we are using the following free app

    appsource.microsoft.com/.../PUBID.abakion|AID.graphical_inventory_profile|PAPPID.5c4c047b-7111-44d5-ba66-3daff1f0643b

    Hi

When you are done with setup (see below) of the app you can access it from a few area to access it. For example in Item List -> Report -> Graphical ... or PO then Line -> Line -> Graphical

In menu you can select many options (take time to master them) then in the chart you can see where inventory runs out (goes under zero) etc.

Also, you can access it from Planning Worksheet -> Report -> Inventory Graphic

Forgot to add that you also can use the following free app as well. it is not as complex (giving you options for exclude/include, etc) as of inventory graphic but to show everything in one page and easier to read or export to Excel it does work.
