GP 2010 - Accounts Payable - Check writing security code change

I am new to Great Plains and have been asked to reset the security code for writing checks in accounts payable.  Basically, when the AP person gets ready to print checks, she has someone else to come up and type a code into the system to allow for her to continue.  I have been asked to find out how to change our code and my search for the answer has not been successful.  Please help.

Are you using Mekorma or another 3rd party check writing add-on?  It sounds like you are referring to a password that should popup before you can print the PM check.  There is a password associated with the checkbook you are using if the check is over a certain amount.

It is located by clicking Cards | Financial | Checkbook and if this field is blank then there is not password and no prompt will appear.  If a password has been setup then and the check being written exceeds the Max Check Amount then the password prompt will appear.

For example:  If the Max Check Amount is $50 then the popup would appear and once the correct password is entered you can continue with the check process.

Since you need to change the password simple go to this window and enter your new password and click Save.

If you attempt to open this window and you are presented with a system password dialog then this is a different issue all together.

Please let me know if this helps,

In our case, we not have a password located here: Cards | Financial | Checkbook.  We are using Mekorma and from the functional side, when the AP user navigates to Transactions>Purchasing>Print Checks, a window opens that is labeled "Print Mekorma MICR Payables Checks".  The user can choose the batch and at some point after selecting print, a popup window then requires a password to proceed.  This is the password that I need to find out how to change.  I appreciate your help and please let me know if you have any additional suggestions.

Mekorma Security Settings are maintained under Tools > Setup > Company > Mekorma Security.  You will need to know the system password to access this window.

Thanks  - the navigation for me was slightly different.   Tools > Setup > Company >Mekorma MICR Setup>Mekorma MICR Security

    Thanks for getting me there.
