Delete workflow for impact analysis

Hi all,

Currently we have a group talk saying that deleting the workflows (with older versions) will make performance impact on the present workflows.

So we have decided to delete the inactive workflow data from back-end (i.e. from table 'WorkflowTable').

Will there be any performance boost?

Please suggest on this.

Does deleting the data from the 'workflowTable' will delete any other data? from the workflow tracking tables like,

WorkflowTrackingArgumentTable
WorkflowTrackingCommentTable
WorkflowTrackingStatusTable
WorkflowTrackingTable
WorkflowTrackingWorkItem

If there are lots of in complete workflow item then yes, it does impact the performance. You would have to make sure you are deleting only very old incomplete WFs. I would recommend to try first in your non-prod instances. Are you facing that performance issue with your WFs only?
