I am working with a client who would like to change the number of places beyond the decimal point to 4 in the Service Module-->Equipment Entry-->Purchase Info tab. Can this be done?

You can't Change the decimal point from 2 to 4 in Equipment entery screen under service Module. Also we can't change the decimal places through customization for SL standard fields. But in users field, we can change the decimal values through customization. According to your scenario the customization is not required as suggested by Perumal.

You can use the user4 field of smsvcequipment in Equipment Entry screen.
Also you have to change the Decimal Places property of the control which you have added newly in this screen from 2 to 4. Please refer the below screen shot for your reference.

Thank you for the reply, we attempted to add another user field in the screen but were not able to locate a field that would accept 4 decimal places on that particular screen they were all 2 places, have you seen this done before on that screen?

Hello,
As of my knowledge, We can't change the decimal point to 4 in Equipment Entry screen. You can have the work around to achieve this functionality. You need to do the customization on Equipment Entry screen.
If you are new to customization manager, refer the customization manager Pdf which you could found out under user guides of Solomon folder.
