I need to uninstall the present rollup which is 15 on CRM 2011, but I keep getting this error:

"Action Microsoft.Crm.Setup.Common.update.DBRemoveAction failed.

Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.

Invalid license key."

When I ran a query on the sql to show me the license key, it showed me the license key I used in installing CRM 2013 on another server, though the two servers are on the same domain.

So how do I change the license key to the original key of 2011?

I found the solution to this problem.

I had to delete the MSCRM_CONFIG database and then restore a previous backup I did, and then I could uninstall the rollup and use the crm.

Though I still don't understand why it would read the license key of 2013..

So I learnt how important it is to always do a regular backup, you just might need to use a previous backup you did.
