IE crashes when using CRM in multiple tabs

I have a user group that uses CRM heavily out of multiple tabs at once - 6, 8, sometimes up to 12 tabs open with Cases, advanced find queries, and Accounts.

Since about Oct 22 they've been reporting that occasionally working like this will cause IE to freeze and crash - previously they had no issues working the way they do.

They seem to have no other issues with other sites in IE and users that use CRM in IE without that many tabs have not had any issues.

I haven't made any infrastructure changes to the CRM deployment, on-prem, and I haven't found anything server side related to their crashes - since it's IE I assume it would all be client side but I haven't found anything on their end as well.

Occasionally they'll get a message saying "A Microsoft Dynamics CRM window was unable to open and may have been blocked by a pop-up blocker".

Our site is within the intranet zone and the pop-up blocker is not configured for this zone.

Anyone experience this?  Any thoughts on what I could look at to help isolate the crashing issue?

Any Oct/Nov IE security patches (KBs) applied to those workstations recently?

Do your users experience crashes in other web browsers like FireFox or Chrome?

    Hi,

Check to see if they've zoomed in their browser. That can cause huge performance issues with CRM (blog.cobalt.net/.../internet-explorer-zoom-effects-on-crm-2011-performance).

Hope this helps! If so, I'd appreciate if you'd mark as a Verified answer.

    Thanks,

    Thanks for the suggestion.

I was aware of this issue with IE and CRM 2011, I wasn't aware that it was still plaguing the newer releases.

    Unfortunately this wasn't my issue.

I spot checked a few users and their zoom was all set to 100%.
