Time sheet reporting

ReportReport
Posted on by 80

Hi.  On Business Central, is there a way for me to run a report that shows the job number recorded on a weekly timesheet submission?  If i look at an individual's timesheet, i can see "type" job, but how do i include the job number and the hours worked per job please?  I can see the option to filter, but can i export a weekly timesheet to excel and include all the job numbers too?

I have the same question (0)

The detail does exist in the table:

You might consider having a page extension done here so you can expose the data you need. You could then use an Odata connection in Excel to manually export the data. I think Power BI is worth considering as well because you have a few more visual options. If you don't have access to resource internally to handle this type of request it is worth looking at appsource - simple object designer is a good one one.

You can use "Design" in a sandbox to add the fields to the worksheet page:

You can then download the code but you need some know how to create this into an app you can then install in production. Other option would be to have a report object created in BC exposing all the data you require and then use the new Excel report layout feature to make it look as you need.

Since the Job number can be viewed or recorded via the Action Line Activity Details, the data such as Job No., Job Task No., etc. are recorded in the Time Sheet Detail (ID952).

The data is then transferred back to table ID951, with which you can then perform the evaluation.

That is why there is also the filter in the Time Sheet, so that you can filter the rows that have been recorded for the respective Job No..

As already mentioned, you will not be able to run the report in Excel without an app or page extension.

I can recommend you our app NCE Excel Builder from AppSource, so you can create such reports.

    It looks like this:
