I am trying to limit which SmartLists users can see. Right now, they can see all the canned SmartLists. I do not have an issue with the SmartList Builder reports. I need those who have Sales access to only see sales and purchasing to only see the canned purchasing reports. I have created new security tasks selecting AR or AP but the users can still see reports for the other modules.

Hi Mark,

I had the same issue after the GP was upgraded to 10.x a few years back.. I created a security task designed to cover the default smartlists for each module and named them accordingly. Then I put those tasks in the various default security roles for my users and that solved the issue. Select the resources accordingly to Jonathan's post. Hope this helps.

Hi Mark,

You need to change security for each user. Once you know which security task is granting the access you can change the security. Since you are looking to change security for several users I would recommend that you remove access to all Smartlists and then create new tasks for each areas (Sales, Purchasing, Inventory, ETC).

In the Security Task Setup window you can check the following:

Product: Smartlist

Type: Smartlist Objects

Series: Smartlist Objects
