Need to reverse-engineering queries used by Integration Manager

I am not familiar with Integration Manager or Great Plains. I have a client who has existing processes to pull summary data from a few external sources (Personify, A2Z) via Integration Manager into Great Plains. Our task is to pull that same data (actually, we need to pull in the transactional data instead) into PowerBI so as to be able to report on it there and provide drill-down functionality.

If I can get access (log on to Integration Manager) to the integrations currently in use, will that allow me to identify / see the specific tables & columns being accessed in those integrations?

    Jen,

We have done a similar transaction data pull from GP to Power BI reporting, if you have an option to consider an external support, please drop an email to discuss, we could help you.

    Jen,

One of the advantages of Integration Manager is that the Destinations Mapped in Dynamics GP are in "plain English" and not organized by technical (Table.Field).  Unfortunately, that means you won't get the kind of information I think you're looking from from Integration Manager. What you will get is the GP Destinations (modules and target windows and fields) that data is being written to.  This will likely be useful, it just will not provide a direct path to the tables and fields you want to map data from.  The easiest way to find the tables related to various windows and fields, which is the data you'll get from Integration Manager is to use Table Finder - this installs alongside SmartList Builder from eOne Solutions.

Thanks but we already ARE the external support!

Thanks Harry, sounds like your suggestion would work, but upon further digging, it turns out the client is not actually using Integration Manager at all (right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing...)

    Jen -

LOL! One other thing to be aware of is Victoria Yudin's website. It has a wealth of information about GP Tables, complete with very handy information about the codes you'll encounter in various tables, and what those translate into in English.  There are also a number of SQL views to aid your efforts.  victoriayudin.com/gp-tables
