I must admit that for dynamics the versioning and licensing is more complex than the product. What does portal now consist of, what happen to adx studio and can whatever portal is now how do you pay for it?

If you go for D365 Plan 1 then you will get one add-on portal free along with the plan. if you want a additional licenses for additional portals, for use as a non-production portal, or additional production portals you need to purchase it.
