create put-away when production order is finished

Posted on by 85

Hi,

When I post the journal lines of a production order and all the items are finished.

When I want to move the finished items from the finished production bin to the fixed warehouse bin I use the movement worksheet.

Is there a better way to move the finished items?

Kind regards,

Bert

    Hi Bert,

It depends if the locations has been set up with Directed Pick and Put-away or not.

If you have set up  Directed Pick and Put-away you can use

    - warehouse internal movement

    - Movement worksheet

    - Warehouse reclassification journal

if not you can create Inbound warehouse request and then an Inventory Put-away

    Hi Bert,

This is Bryan.  Thank you for your question here on Communities.

When output is posted on a Production Order, it is posted to the 'From Production Bin Code' (From Location or Work/Machine Center)....here we assume you have DP&P as in the last forum you had.

Movement Worksheet is one way to handle this.  You could use the 'Calc. Bin Replenishment' so that if your fixed warehosue bin has a higher bin ranking, it would move it there...
Another option you can try is the Warehouse Reclassification Journal.   Here you can specify your 'From Zone/Bin' and the 'To Zone/Bin" and move it that way also.
    Thanks and hope that helps

    Bryan
