tax in POS

We have all of our items set with the same item tax. However we have additional taxes created in order to change tax at POS if needed for tax exempt sales, or if we sell to out of province.  we are finding that even after running a z report and restarting the POS the taxes aren't functioning properly. As in, WE ring in an item, highlight tax hit shift+f2, and when it brings up the tax ALL of them are already selected, even though value of the tax being implemented only is for one of the taxes on the list.   How can we fix this so that the only one selected is the one we want to use, and so that when we click shift+f2 we can change it to a a different tax and have the tax percent reflected correctly?

I would look for the differences between the one that works and the rest that don't..

Rather than the Shift+F2, just move to the Tax column and press F2 and select one to see if that works better.

yes, we have done this as stated above we have created all the options, yet when we try and select the tax at the POS it does not work, allthe taxes are already selected and only one of them actually works to put a tax on the item.

You are going to create a tax rate for each possibility, One with PST only, GST only, PST BC + GST, PST BC only etc and select the appropriate one at POS.

Be sure to create a tax exempt one too for easier reporting purposes.
