Cannot export to excel using Chrome

I'm not sure why this suddenly stopped working but when trying to export anything from CRM 2011 on premise to excel, nothing happens. After clicking on export (see image below), nothing happens. We don't get any kind of error or message, it just doesn't continue to download the file:

But I am still able to export in IE though. Any ideas???

FYI - this doesn't work on Windows 8.1
