I had an issue with “Unable to access the MSCRM_CONFIG database. SQL Server does not exist or access denied” i requested for help on forum, Then i got response and it works for many people with the confirmation of there comment, I tried the steps but it does not work for me. With the error message I interpreted the message and applied it to the listed steps below, at the end of the steps I was fine with it.
Here is another manual solution to this Error “Unable to access the MSCRM_CONFIG database. SQL Server does not exist or access denied” in CRM 2011.
Firstly when CRM installation was done, a user was used to install CRM.
To solve the problem without going to active directory to add users to SQLAcessGroup.
User the following steps listed below.
Were CRM database is stored locate the local disc C – Click on local disc c – Click on program files – Click on Microsoft SQL Server – Click on MSSQL10_50.MSSQLSERVER – Click on Data – Right Click on MSCRM_CONFIG – Scroll Down and Click on Properties – Click on Security – Click on Continue if you have the users that was used during CRM installation click on the user and then check on full control and the Click on Apply and OK – Click on Advanced – Click on Owner and then Edit and Change owner to The CRM Installation User – Click on Apply and OK.
The following steps are applicable to MSCRM_CONFIG_log. After the entire following Steps are been done, restart your machine and then open your Deployment manger. With the following steps you are fine.
