Multiple Email Addresses Same Outlook Client

Hello,

I am running into a situation where we will soon have a single outlook client which is signed in with multiple email accounts. Each email account has a corresponding CRM account. i.e a single computer with a single outlook client instance has multiple email accounts signed in. I would like each corresponding email from each email account to sync with their respective CRM account (via tracking), so if we have personal options set up properly for each account, as an email comes in its automatically tracked. So if an email comes to the first email address, it gets tracked to its respective CRM account and if the second email address gets an email its synced to the corresponding 2nd email addresses CRM account. Is this functionality possible with CRM outlook client? Or do i need to make some modifications to make this work? Please note I am using CRM 2013 and outlook client for CRM.

Whilst you can define multiple CRM organisations through the configuration tool of the Dynamics for Outlook client, you can only choose from one organisation to synchronise with. Unfortunately multiple org syncing is not currently supported.

We are not trying to sync multiple organizations with an email address, we are trying to sync multiple email addresses to the same organization via 1 outlook client.

Right understand what you're saying now. However the same logic seems to apply, given you're allowed one active connection which has a given user's credentials associated it doesn't allow you two active connections using separate credentials (email addresses) to the same organisation. There simply isn't an option there.

I see that's rather unfortunate. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how we can achieve this affect? Without the need for a separate computer for each outlook client which would get expensive. we could probably use virtual machines but then again our computers are not that strong. I find it rather strange that no one else has brought up this issue with Microsoft , its not that uncommon of a problem.

Hi NetZero, while the ad hoc tracking capability of the Outlook Connector would only be available to one user, you can handle automatic inbound and outbound tracking by deploying the Email Router or Server Side Synchronization. I believe Server Side Sync became available in CRM 2015, but use that if it is available your 2013 version, otherwise you'll need to deploy & configure the Email Router. You would configure the user profiles to use the Email Router or Server Side Synch instead of the Outlook Connector. The users would then setup their tracking to "all messages from CRM Leads, Contacts and Accounts" in their personal options. Any emails they send from CRM (including automated workflow emails) would be tracked.
