Regarding newer version of Fetchxml Builder from XRM toolbox

In the old version of fetchxml builder, I can copy the fetchxml script directly to the builder's xml view, and the query is automatically generated. This doesn't seem to work with newer version of fetchxml builder, does anyone know if there is some kind of configuration I can change so that I can use xml script to update the query view?
