I would like to trade-in my current existing fixed asset to aquire a later version of a similar asset, paying the difference between the cost of the new asset and the value of the trade-in.

I have an automobile that has a NBV of $ 9,000. I can trade-in this vehicle, receiving $ 7,000 as trade-in value, and pay another $10,000 for a newer vehicle, priced at $ 17,000.

How would I record this transaction in Dynamics GP Fixed Assets module?.I think I have an idea, but there must be someone out there that can point me to a better approach to this issue.

Thanking all of you in advance, for your generous offer of your time and expertise.

Regards,

Deesom.
