Default 'Report Type' Setting

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by

Hi All,

Is there a way to default the 'Report Type' setting when printing a report in GP?  (In our case, it is when processing AP remittances - we need this to default to 'Standard', not 'Template').  I had thought that it would simply retain the setting from the last successful print, but that doesn't seem to be working.  Thanks!

JKatulka, Are you referring the Payable Check Remittance word template report?

    Hi,

If you are not using templates, you can turn it off on the Template Configuration Manager window Goto>>Reports >>Template Configuration.

If you're not using templates at all then "Uncheck" the Enable Report Templates at the bottom. If you only want to turn them off for certain companies/series/reports, you can go through the list and uncheck the particular where you are not using templates.

Shan, the question still stands - you have told how to turn on and off the template access for certain reports, but the question is how to make Standard the first choice in the report printing drop down menu when the user goes to print a report.

The user may want to have the option to print to Template or Standard, but by DEFAULT how to set it as Standard?

    Hi Bill,

The answer to the question is no, there is no default setting to set it as the Standard report Default to the users. It can be achieved by minimal customization using the VBA. I hope, this functionality can be included in the future release by Microsoft.

Well, in our case, we do not use templates for remittances, so this quick fix works for us.  Thanks!!

Just installed 2016 R2 and had hoped this would be an option but it does not look like it yet?

    good day
I have installed GP 2015 version 14.00.088 (R2) and in the path: reports >> template configuration, only uncheck the option 'enable report templates' (box below the form) and it was possible that all reports at the time of printing , default to 'standard'
    I hope it helps

    Hi,

I know this is an old post but because I didn't see any final resolution, I found this helpful link that explains how to deactivate the "Template" default and restore it to "Standard".

    https://www.boyerassoc.com/blog/disable-word-templates-in-dynamics-gp-for-printing/

In summary: from the Dynamics top Menu, select Reports, then Template Configuration. Expand the tree menu. Expand the User's Company.

Look for the subsidiary module and expand it.

Remove the checkmark from the Form you want to restore to the "Standard" type.

Click on [Save] at the top of the window.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Erwin - PR
