Display method color code apply

Hi,
In my custom form, I have a display method control which returns a real value.

I need to add a background color code for it.
For ex: If the Displaycontrol is 0.00 = green color as background. if its more than 0.00 = then background color as red.

As this is a display method, I'll not be able to compare using the if condition and set the color.
Is there any other option for this?

you have't told anything about the layout of your form. for example is this a single control and of which type ? is it in the grid?
