Adding Field from Item Card to Other Documents

Hello,

We are facing an issue with item numbers due to the characters limitation on the field. So we decided to use another field and split the code between them both. However, i'm trying not to customize since there will be too many documents that requires customization and wanted to use an existing field on the item Card that is called (No 2.)

However, when i use designer i'm not able to to add it to the SO or PO. Is there another filed code or text that exist on all documents that we can use?

Have you looked into using the item reference table for this scenario ?

Hi, I think you can use Description 2 instead, which is a standard field and should be easy to add to other pages.

Cannot we use the search description on the item card? Because it's going to be easier to look up the item.

Hi, It is possible, but when you enter a letter, it will be forced to switch to uppercase. As long as you can accept this is fine.

I do have a followup question, when we try to search from the item on a PO or SO using the search description, it keeps sending me errors like i'm not fully aware how to use the search description
