Fire up the old computer and locate the DYNAMICS.SET file under the Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics\GP2013 folder. Edit this file with notepad and take notice of the path used by the REPORTS.DIC and the FORMS.DIC files. You will want to edit the DYNAMICS.SET file on the new computer to point to those paths for those two dictionaries.

    Hi Ali,

As Mariano suggested, it is probably a missing module in your DYNAMICS.SET file.

As GP is workign on another machine, I can suggest that your rename the existing GP program folder (i.e. from GP2013 to GP2013_Bad) and copy the other GP2013 folder from the working PC over this PC.

This is the quickest way to check if there was some module missing.

Yes Ali, please do. Nonetheless, you will want to ensure that the path to all forms and reports dictionaries for every product on the new machine match that of the paths on the old machine. You will also want to ensure that the list of products are complete on the new machine by comparing to the number of products installed on the old one.

I am currently having the same issue, HOWEVER, it's on a computer that worked fine last week. I am trying to print checks when this is happening. Nothing on this computer has changed from last week to today, so I'm beyond lost as to what's causing the change and I am getting the errors. Anyone able to help?

    Hi Cyndi,

As suggested from the previous replies, check the DYNAMICS.SET launch file on that local workstation in the GP client folder, and see if any dictionary points to a network share.. you may find the origin of your problem there..

    Beat,

The shares look fine for what we can see. The file hasn't been modified since 2014 either. Not all of us posting asking questions are MS experts for MS GP Dynamics 2013. This is an error that's happening in one specific place of printing checks. The other user that has done it was logged in and gets the same error. From the knowledge of everyone in the company here, we don't see anything that we know how to do to fix this, so we are looking for a bit more of a details answer as to how to fix the issue we are having.

    Hi Cyndi,

Can you please post a screenshot of the error message here ?

That kind of error can be tricky to troubleshoot remotely with no information about your configuration, the number of modules setup, what ISV products are used, etc..

In addition, if you could post the content of the DYNAMICS.SET file here, that may help too.

You said also that nothing changed on the GP client setup side, but if your dictionaries are on a shared network folder, what about the permissions on that share ? Maybe there has been alterations made in Active Directory, that you're not aware of.. ?

    Thank Cyndi,

from you launch file, it looks like you have the SDT (Support Debugging Tools) installed.. could you please start the Security Profiler prior to trying to run the post process, as it looks like you may have eventually a customized report.. With the profiler trace, you may be able to pin-point where the issue comes from.

I'm out of town tomorrow, but hopefully someone else may pickup on this thread and help you.

Check also if users have an alternate / modified report assigned to their login ..
