How to create last month and last 3 months value for a numeric field in CRM 2013

Our CRM 2013 on premise system integrates with an email marketing system which results in a "Leadscore" field being populated based on activity on emails sent to the Lead.  So this field is updated every week or 10 days when a new email is sent to the lead.

So, what I want to do is to show:

1) The total score - which is this field

2) The score achieved in the last 4 weeks

3) The score achieved in the last 3 months

As the field is not updated with a regular schedule I'm finding it difficult to do a calculation to identify the recent activity over total activity.

I did try a wait condition, but this then re-sets the field values on (say) 1st month and what I want to show is a rolling score that goes back 4 weeks and 3 months from today.

Any ideas?

Simon, Have you considered enabling auditing on the lead score so that CRM tracks this information for you? I'm not sure how you want to show the recent activity but you can use the audit data to get the last month or last 3month information.

    Hi Simon,

Basically you're trying to store values over time, i'd create a custom entity with score, a date for when the score was evaluated and a lookup to the main record.

Doing this, you'll be able to query and aggregate these custom entities and then get the scores achieved in the last 4 weeks or last 3 months. You could then store the calculation in your fields "Score - 4 weeks" and "Score - 3 months".

Simple plugin on create/update/delete of your new custom entity should do the work for the calculation.

    Hope it helps,

    Hi Mamatha,

Thanks for this thought.  I've now looked into auditing and as far as I can see, the audit data is available to me for review as an admin user, but it's not something that is accessible for me to use to display into new fields.  So I don't see how I can create a workflow (or similar) to populate the increase in the value of a field in the last 4 weeks  and last 3 months into other custom fields?

    Thanks,

    Simon

    Thanks Alexandre,

This sounds like the only way forward, so will go and have a go at it...

    Thanks,

    Simon
