How to Overwrite Exchange Rate on a Migrated Invoices

Posted on by 65

Hello Community!

One of our clients would like us to Migrate Invoices from their legacy system to Dynamics 365.

The problem we are running into is that we need to set the Invoice's Exchange Rate to be different than the current Currency's Exchange Rate that is stored in CRM (for obvious reasons: exchange rates change over time). Unfortunately, it doesn't look like you can overwrite the Exchange Rate at the invoice level. The invoice always gets created with the current Exchange Rate from the CRM Currency.

One potential solution we have so far is to update the CRM Currency's global Exchange Rate for each Invoice being created. This is not ideal because users can't use the system at that time (they could create records with incorrect exchange rate) and it makes for a very slow integration package.

Any thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
