I am just wondering what the journal entry should be when we are in November and someone voided an October check and used the check date as the void date.

is the period wrong too or just the date? are you using cash manager module to do your bank recs? If you are not using cash manager and the period is correct, there is no need to worry as SL is period sensitive and not date sensitive with the exception of cash manager.
