Making an item Inactive through a query

So I am currently making a list of a couple thousand items that need to be marked as Inactive from one of our Vendors.  Instead of going through the this and bringing up each Item one by one, I was planning to use the QSCImport tool and give each Item a Note or Reorder Number of INACTIVE ... hoping that I would then be able to run a query to search for that Note or Reorder Number and make each result an Inactive item.

Make sense?  Is it possible??

Yes, I recommend the built-in wizard(Wizard->Inventory Wizard) to do this. You can make items inactive in bulk by importing data from a Tab delimited or  a Comma delimited or a XML file.

Yes, you could use a SQL query or the Import tool, but why not just use the RMS Wizard?
