Sharing of Default Dimension on Vendor across legal entities

Hello All,

I have done the setup for Cross company sharing across legal entities for Vend Table - Here I am not able to enable the Default Dimension Field- If I do so- System is saying Those cannot be shared.

However I came across Microsoft document, where it says that if Dimensions are global (Attached Screenshot) (Which are in our case), then can be shared across legal entities by creating the policy, but for creating the Policy for Default dimension I am not able to find particular table for Default dimensions on Vendor Master.

How I can share the Default dimensions across legal entities??

Yes I am refering the mentioned document only.

We have two Entity Backed Dimensions- Business unit and Department and one Custom Dimension. -According to this document- This all are Global Dimensions - which can be shared through Data sharing policy .

All the dimensions and their values are common across legal entities.

.

Now, I am trying to create new policy for this Default dimensions- but I am not able to find particular table for that- (Attached Imaged).

Once I defined this Dimesion Policy, I will try to import it into VendTable policy and Enable it.

Is this correct way to do it. -

Please help.

Hello Nikhil,

Is the "Customer and vendor master data sharing" feature enabled in your system?

If so, starting from version 10.0.43, it is no longer necessary to enable the Default dimensions field for the Customer or Vendor tables. Cross-company data sharing - Finance & Operations | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Learn

Hi Nikhil,

The default dimensions on a vendor are managed by the field DefaultDimension which has a record ID reference to a dimension set with values. There is no additional table to be shared for this purpose. This set must have the same structure in all of the legal entities where you share the master data to fulfill the "global dimensions" requirement.

Can you verify if the legal entities involved do have the same account structures set up?

Hi, @andre,

Yes all the financial dimension along with values are same across legal entities. Also, I have checked the Account structure is too same for all legal entity. Still I am not able to Enable the Checkbox for - Default dimension field under Vendor table in Cross company shared setup.

I am not able to understand the concept of Foreign Key and role of Financial Dimension Set in this.
