Using GP 2013 R2 utility Customer Combiner and Modifier to combine two customers to one

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

We have GP 2013 R2 and recently I used GP utility "Customer Combiner and Modifier" to combine two different customers ID to one and get the error message "[Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0 ][SQL Server]You can only specify the READPAST lock in the READ COMMITTED or REPEATABLE READ isolation levels."

    I'm sorry for bringing this old thread back to life, but I'm having the exact same issue with GP 2015 and SQL 2012. The db Isolation level is already set as READ COMMITTED. The proposed solution only applies for NAV.

    Hi Richard!

    I have never actually come across this specific error within Dynamics GP. If the information that Harry had posted does not resolve the issue I would recommend creating a case with use here at Microsoft Dynamics GP Support so we can look into this. If you do end up creating a case I would recommend creating DexSQL.log so we can see what could potentially cause this error.

    Hope this helps!

    Richard -

    Before you point this out, I know you are on Dynamics GP and NOT NAV; however, this KB article seems like it has the answer to your problem;

    support.microsoft.com/.../981995

    This problem occurs on a computer that is running Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and that has the Microsoft Dynamics NAV environment installed. Additionally, this issue occurs only if Microsoft SQL Server Replication is enabled on one of the Microsoft Dynamics NAV tables.

    If you have Replication enabled, this is likely the problem you're seeing.  I know from past experience using PSTL for clients with custom triggers on tables SQL issues can effect PSTL.
