System email

Hi,

anyone knows how to assign an email template to become a system email template?

    I understand it's too late but this is probably the other way-

    System administration -> Setup -> System parameters.

    Go to Alerts Tab and view details from E-mail ID.

    You can create System e-mail from this form.

    OMG surprisingly yes it worked, you are correct.

    i still remember there is a place where i can add the email templates to become system one, i just found it like 2 weeks ago but i forgot where it is.

    but still your way is working fine.

    Hi Fadi.

    I just tested something in AX regarding the above. Please try the following: Check "Show system emails" then click anywhere in the top grid, then press "ctrl + N" this should work.

    Hi,

    no no message at all, it basically doesn't do anything, i click ctrl + N and nothing, if i untick the show system email and the click ctrl + N then i become able to create a new email template.

    Hi Fadi.

    The article speaks basically about the same thing we have been discussing. You need to check that "Show System emails" box before creating your template. You have mentioned that you cannot create a new template if the checkbox is selected... Is there a specific message you are getting?

    you understood me right i guess, but am surprised with your results too.

    and it say's in point 3.B and i quote "Check the ‘Show system e-mails’ box. This must be done before setting up the template.  If the template is not setup as a system e-mail then it will not be available later when we assign it to a workflow."

    so this is exactly what is happening to me.

    Hi

    I have never seen this functionality myself and have always just recreated as per instructions. You can also right click from anywhere that you select System email templates and click view details to view and create System email templates.

    We have written a job to copy system templates to all companies, maybe you can reverse engineer it to copy them back if you need. http://www.exploreax.com/blog/blog/2014/10/27/sync-system-email-templates-to-all-companies/

    Hi Fadi,

    I have the email templates defined under Org Admin -> Setup -> Email templates and I can see all the templates under workflow configuration. Not sure why you can't see it or I misunderstood your question?

    am pretty sure i can, i just forgot where it is.

    however, what i can understand from you is; if i want to create a System email i have to go to Organisation Admin -> Setup -> Email templates and tick "Show system emails" and then click Ctrl + N and create a new template and in this case it become automatically a system email template, right?

    if this is what you mean, then it doesn't work, am using AX 2012 R3 and i tried doing that and i cant create new template when i tick the "Show system emails", it's only for view purpose.

    Hi Fadi.

    I don't believe you can "re-assign" an organisational template to a system template as describe. You need to select the system checkbox and recreate them manually.
