Project accounting transactions - tax postings

Hi All,

We are finding when project expense journals are posted the tax (GST in Australia) is going to the expense or WIP account rather than the tax account specified in the tax ledger posting profile.

Does any one know if there is a setting where we can make the tax post using the tax posting profile?

Hello Mark,

Many thanks for sharing the screenprints.

The sales tax is actually calculated based on the setups that you made in the tax module.

I would expect that you have sales tax groups and item sales tax groups specified in this module.

The combination of those two elements must be configured for your projects to calculate sales taxes correctly.

Would be great if you could double check your sales tax configuration in the tax module.

Thanks Ludwig. I've checked my sales tax configuration and it seems ok.

The odd thing is when we post to sales tax outside of projects, the ledger postings are correct tax control accounts, but when we post through projects the tax goes to WIP or P&L expense account rather than the tax control accounts.

I've searched GL, AP and Project parameters for a setting but had no luck locating a toggle which will ensure the sales tax posting goes to the tax control accounts when projects are involved.

I believe that the issue is related to bug that is currently worked on.

There are actually quite many project - tax related issues reported there.

If you can't find a hotfix or info about your specific issue then open a new support case.
