Hi all,

When will the customer know which Azure Region their D365FO instance will be hosted. When they purchase the license? I cannot see there is an option to change the primary region on the LCS project.

You can find or setup the Azure region where a Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (D365FO) instance will be hosted is typically determined during the deployment phase of the application. At that time customer must use the correct region for environment deployment when they create the Lifecycle Services Implementation project at first Signup.

Starting July 2023 customers can deploy Microsoft managed finance and operations environments to any region from any Lifecycle Services instance (apart from US GCC and 21Vianet in China). Earlier it was only possible to deploy to regions which were data resident to the Lifecycle Services endpoint itself, for example France Lifecycle Services only allowed deployment in France geo. For more information about which regions are available and what you must consider when you make a selection, see Available geographies for Dynamics 365 finance and operations apps.

Alongside, If a change in the Azure region was necessary for an existing deployment, it typically involved migrating the D365FO environment to the desired Azure region manually.

I think primary region on the LCS project can only be changed by Microsoft Internal via support ticket with proper use case.
