Queries on licensing of Dynamics 365 for Field Service: Resco Woodford solution

During demo preparation for customer on Dynamics 365 for Field Service, we found that for the following purpose:

  1. Designing/customizing/running Field Service on mobile app

We must install RESCO client, although in the following link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/dynamics/crm-customer-center/install-the-field-service-mobile-app.aspx

To customize Field Service - Dynamics 365 (mobile), you need to install the Resco Mobile Dynamics 365 Woodford solution. This lets you configure mobile behavior around your business needs. If you don’t need to customize the app just yet, you can use the default field service mobile configuration.

 

 In fact, Field Service on mobile cannot run without RESCO client pre-installed. So, I have a problem about:

  1. On Microsoft product policy, do we really need to install RESCO client for running Field Service on mobile platform?
  2. If “Yes” for #1,in what case that Field Service on mobile required a RESCO client? What kind of licensing of RESCO needed?

Please help me clarify these information

    In my experience you need to download the Field Service Solution and then download the Resco Woodford solution and that's it.

    But you may need to contact Microsoft to assign Resco Licences to your organisation. Explained here community.dynamics.com/.../242684

    So, It means Field service license it includes Resco Woodford license, doesnt it?

    You will need one of following applications to be installed on your mobile devices - "Field Service Mobile" or "Field Service - Dynamics 365" depending on the version of CRM you use. Here is screenshot from App Store:

    I have already installed Field Service Dynamics 365, it connected with Dynamics 365.

    I just tested this and Even without Woodford solution you can use Field services App. And woodford pricing you can find them in thier website https://www.resco.net/pricing/

    If you want to customize Field Service Mobile Application then you must require Woodford solution and that comes with licensing. It is free for a month.

    Hi,

    Its been a while so I cant exactly remember 100%. But it may auto add Resco Licenses but if you ever need more then you will have to contact Microsoft.

    In Woodford it will tell you how many Licenses you have

    For example we have 400 CRM licenses and only 100 Resco Licenses. So they are two different things.

    Hi Thomas,

    Are you aware if licenses are affiliated with individual users somehow or you are just provided in the tenant based on the Dynamics licenses you hold.

    I.E. if you have 20 full licensed users and 10 Team licenses you would be entitled to 20 Resco licenses, does it matter who consumes them?

    I believe that once a user logins to Field Service Mobile for example, then it will use one license.

    You can use this link to get your Woodford License included with your Field Service.

    You can modify resco FS App only for FS use.
