Hi All,

I'm looking all over for the security task that will allow users to delete attachments (from a sales invoice), but can't find it.  Can someone point me in the right direction?

You can always troubleshoot security using the information in the following KB all you need is a user that can complete the action and a Dexsql.log turned on.

951229 Frequently asked questions about role-based security in Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0 and Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010

    mbs.microsoft.com/.../KBDisplay.aspx

However looking at this there is no security set to do this. Can you expand on what you are seeing?

Not sure if this is different on older builds, but in GP 2013 SP 2, deleting attachments must be allowed on the Document Attachment Setup window (GP | Tools | Setup | Company | Document Attachment Setup).

    Hi JKatulka,

All the security for document attachments are managed by the these 5 tasks listed below.

    1. Document Attachment File Utility .

    2. Document Attachment Inquiry.

    3. Document Attachment Management.

    4. Document Attachment Setup.

    5. Document Attachment Status Inquiry.

All these tasks are available under the Product: Microsoft Dynamics GP and Series: Company.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Appasaheb

I too had this issue.  The delete ICON was not showing on the Vendor attachment screen.

I dug through the security but that was NOT the issue.  The issue was in the DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT ATTACHMENT SETUP.

You must have the option Allow Document Attachments to be deleted checked on.

There is not specific user security that prevents one person from deleting versus another.  You can set a password though.  This may be viewed as a shortfall in the security setup for this recently added function.
