Can we set up price change by location in AX 2012?

Hi all experts!

Suppose some products have not passed the quality test that have some defects and can still be sold at a discount price.

The discount has categorized in to tiers based on defect levels which are

Grade A : Discount X %

Grade B : Discount Y %

Grade C : Discount Z %

After quality test, if we move the specific defective items to the defect location, Would it be possible for AX to set up price change of the specific items in the defect location in one time? We don't want to create another item barcode in the system.

Your suggestion would be appreciated.

Thanks

first option you can keep separate price for Item by location (Site, Warehouse). but you will need to update prices manually.

Other way is you can create New Category Hierarchy and you can add Price Category rules as per your Grade categorization .

for more information refer : technet.microsoft.com/.../dn497726.aspx

    Hope this will help.

    Hi Amith

Thank you for your answer. Could you please explain more on about how to manually update the price for the first option ? It means that I have to scan item or key-in item code one-by-one, adjust price in retail module and print new barcode? (I have to print new barcode because there is the price show on the barcode as well) However, if I adjust price of any specific items in the defect location, will it effect other items that are selling in a normal price as these defect items will also be sold in the retail shop as well ? I haven't seen any location selection in the price adjustment tab.

    Please suggest

if you are using retail module and selling those items from separate location you can use  Store specific price lists .for more information refer below thread.

If you have R3, you can configure AX to allow different prices for different Inventory statuses, and have the Quality Order set the inventory to a different status. You then have to put the status you want to sell onto the sales order line.

    Thanks Terry,

You mean I can set different price for the same items by separating inventory status? However, That discount items will be sold at the retail shop where the same items that have normal price also be sold too. If that is the case, how can the retail shop (POS) differentiate discount price  for defect items from full price for normal items? As far as I know, set up discount price will effect all items (I mean both normal and defect) that will be sold in the retail shop.

Moreover, my client want to set up auto-replenishment for the defect items at the retail shop where there sold both normal and defect items as I mention above. How will AX suppose to handle ? It's ok if the customization is needed. I just want to know the concept in order to proceed.

    Please suggest.

    Thanks.

Hmm. I wasn't thinking in a Retail context, rather Trade agreements. You can have a different base price for an item, depending on Inventory status. I don't think the same would be true for Trade agreement discounts, because normally you would set those at the Item discount group level, not Item level. And doesn't look like you can use Inventory status on the Retail discounts either.

Sorry - I have no idea how store replenishment works!
