Return qty -xxx cannot be exceeded - Ax 2012 R2 return Order

Hi All

We are experiencing the above error when trying to un-register a return order line. This only happens when the sales qty is greater than the inventory quantity. For example, my SKU is kept in Tons, but I invoiced a sales order in Kgs (750Kgs --> 0.75Ton). Now when I do a return order, register the line (using a disposition code of credit only) and then try to unregister (all with the same quantities), I receive the above error.

We have traced this to the method on the SalesLine table, SplitReturnLine.

Have anyone else experienced this before?

Any comments appreciated.

Hi Eddie,

There does not seem to be something wrong with the processed you mentioned above.

I do also remember that I had experienced the similar problem while playing with the return order functionality especially for the products which sold in different unit than the stock keeping unit.

This could be possible bug in the standard application.

You can search the lifecycle service to see if there is any hotfix available for the same.

Did you try this on R3 Cu9?

If I get some time I will try out the scenario on R3 Cu9 once and let you know.
