Gift Cards/ Vouchers

I want to be able to create gift/cash cards/vouchers for customers who want to add money to their card to take care of their purchases over a week period.

I am able to create the cards in the manager portion and then sell them to the customer with the amount they want on the card.

My question is after they use the money on that gift card can I add money back to the card or will I have to issue a new card.

Thanks

    Hello Chris,

All gift vouchers have a unique serial number associated with them. RMS uses this serial number to track the value of the voucher as it used in the system. Therefore, once the amount has been exhausted, the customer will be forced to purchase a new one.

    Chris,

You can add to an already sold Gift Card.

On the POS screen Press Ctrl+Shift+F3 keys to open the Voucher Details window.  Type or scan the Gift Card/Certificate number and then click Find.   Write down the current balance, click OK, and then click OK again to get back to the main POS screen. In this example, we'll say the balance is 35.00.  Type, scan or use F2: Lookup to enter the Item Lookup Code for your Gift Card/Certificate item.  Enter the Gift Card/Certificate number. Click Yes to continue when you receive the warning message that the serial number has already been sold.  For the price, enter the amount they want to add to the Gift Card plus the current balance. For example, if they want to add $50.00 to the Gift Card you would enter $85.00 for the price ($50.00 + $35.00). F12: Tender.  On the Gift Card line enter the original amount that was on the Gift Card. In this example it would be $35.00. Enter the amount that they are adding to the card in the appropriate Tender. In this example, $50.00 on the cash line if they are paying with cash.  Click OK to process the transaction.
To verify that the adjustment was made correctly, press CTRL+SHIFT+F3, and then enter the Gift Certificate number. There will be 2 Gift Cards listed. One will show a balance of $0; and the other will show the correct value, in this example $85.00.

     Dave,

Thanks for your help. I knew if the card was zeroed out I could reload it, your solution of using the remaining gc balance as tender for the sale will work.  Thanks again.

    Mabuhay!

Hoe about adding serial number on the voucher, everytime I configure the Items Gift Check and add the serials I always get  this error 450

Wrong number of arguments or invalid  property assignment

I cant add now and use item as a voucher.

    Thanks,

    Chris
