How does one control what shows up under the New (+) menu?

In a Unified Interface app there is the Create New (a big PLUS sign near the Advanced Find) button.  So far the only way we've discovered to get things out of that menu is to deselect the entity in the App Designer.  Since this also defeats the Quick Create forms, it appears one cannot have one without the other.  E.g. it is normal to require users to create orderdetail FROM the order record NOT freely in space.  It does not follow that they should be denied the Quick Create experience.

So, is there a different avenue to controlling Create New menu?

ps- it ain't in the site map

    Hi partner,

An entity shows in the Quick Create  menu in UCI needs two conditions:

1.The entity is added in the app desinger.

2.The entity is enabled for Quick Create and it has at least one quick create form.

So if you want to move out the entity from the Quick Create menu, you just need to disable the Quick Create feature in the entity. This action will not effects the relationship between entities like create new orderdetials from order, the difference is when you create a orderdetail from order, it will open a new form, not quick create form.

    Hope it helps.

    Best Regards,

    Leo

    Hi Tally,

We could only remove entity in Quick Create menu as what you have described, that's the only method.

(Or disable Allow quick create option for entity to remove the item totally, but it will fail to meet your requirement of keeping Quick Create Experience)

From your e.g, as my per understanding, would you like to prevent users t add products to an order record?

If so, you could hide the button with Ribbon Workbench.

Please point out whether I didn't understand your requirement correctly.

Thanks for that confirmation.  In fact we don't want to stop them from adding lines to orders/quotes.  Just the opposite, we want to force them to do it from the order/quote record and NOT from the CREATE NEW menu.

Even though we like the Quick Create form experience, we can't have it both ways.  At least neither you nor we know how.
