Problem going offline with Outlook

Hi, I hope you can help me.  I have successfully installed the Outlook add-in on two laptops but have encountered a problem on mine.  They're all built the same with ESET anti-virus, Win7 and Office 2010.  I am using Dynamics CRM 2011 Online.

The two problems may or may not be related:

1) I can install the Outlook add-in without offline capability - CRM has a tendency to crash Outlook however.  When I open Outlook it often goes to 'not responding' then restarts without CRM running.  Without CRM running Outlook is stable.  The only way to get CRM running again is to exit Outlook, wait for a while and then restart the programme - but even then it sometimes will repeat the same 'not responding' behaviour.  I cannot reliably replicate the behaviour though, I haven't been able to work out exactly what is going on.

2) I cannot install the Outlook add-in with offline capability.  If installing the add-in from scratch the dialog box comes up and it seems to start installing but I get a restart message when it reaches SQL Server Express 2008 (CRM).  I click 'ok' to restart but after the machine reboots it seems to commence installing from the start.  Hence I soon receive another restart message, and so the cycle repeats over and over again and I am never able to progress beyond installing SQL.

If I try to go offline from within Outlook (having installed the add-in) without the offline capabilities I am prompted to install the missing components for offline working.  I click OK, download the files and then I enter the same cycle of SQL Server Express 2008 (CRM)-restart as mentioned above.

There are no other SQL instances running on the laptop.  I have tried uninstalling the Outlook add-in completely.  I am really at a loss now......

I'd be grateful to hear any ideas you may have.  Has anyone encountered any of these two problems before?

Did you try to do the full uninstall where you manually remove CRM folders and RegKeys?  Also, how does your system rank-up against recommended Hardware Requirements? Make sure you have at least 2G of Ram

Hi Rokas, yes I have 2gb RAM.

When I uninstalled I manually removed the CRM folders but I din't edit the registry at all.  Is there a guide to what needs editing in the registry please and I'll try it.

    Try the following Resolution

    1.            Clear Your IE cache.

    2.            Clear your temp files

    3.            Delete MSCRM folder from C:\Users\Your username\AppData\local\microsoft\MSCRM

    4.            Perform similar step for C:\Users\Your username\AppData\local\microsoft\MSCRM and delete MSCRM folder if it exist.

    5.            Goto Run, type in regedit.

    6.            Click on HKEY_CURRENT_USER>>Software>>Microsoft>>MSCRM. Delete all MSRM folder.

    7.            Click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>>Software>>Microsoft>>MSCRM. Delete all MSRM folder.

    8.            Click on HKEY_USER>>Software>>Microsoft>>MSCRM. Delete all MSRM folder.

    9.            Install windows live assistant 6.5 with following link:  www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx

    10.          Repair windows live essential 2011 by going to control panel >>Add remove program>> Windows live essential>>repair OR install by link: explore.live.com/windows-live-essentials

    11.          Goto Run type “control keymgr.dll”. Go to generic credential, click on drop down and click remove vault. Perform for all generic credentials.

    12.          Repair .net framework.

    13.          Now uninstall add-in CRM for outlook and install by the following link: www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx

    14.          (Note: Don’t install from any other link or else it will download CRM 4.0 add-ins also note that your time zone, time and date should be accurate )

    15. Make sure the CRM URL is in trusted sites and you have no other IE add-ins that act as pop-up blocker
