Job Journal Posting Items leaves an amount on Inv. Adjustment Account

When I post an item on a project in the project journal with WIP  Cost % of Completion the following happens:

credit  - Inventory Account Item Inventory Posting Gr                  100

debit   - Adjust Inventory Account Gen Posting Gr          100

This will leave a balance on the Adjust Inventory Account...which I wouldn't expect, this balance will keep on growing with every posting.

I would expect:

credit  - Inventory Account Item Inventory Posting Gr                  100

debit   - Adjust Inventory Account Gen Posting Gr          100

credit   - Adjust Inventory Account Gen Posting Gr                      100

debit    - Project Cost Account                                         100

Why isn't this happening?? Any ideas

Thank you in advance!

RE: Job Journal Posting Items leaves an amount on Inv. Adjustment Account

    Hello Brutus,

Thanks for the question. The costs are not posted to the job until you run the Job Calculate WIP process. Here's some documentation on that process: docs.microsoft.com/.../projects-how-monitor-progress-performance.

I hope that this helps. If not, you may wish to raise a support request with Microsoft support via your CSP/Partner.
